RPO and E-RPO: the solution to accelerate your recruitment

Under the impact of new technologies and social changes that have been shaking the world since 2020, human resources departments — and more specifically the recruitment sector — have undergone a profound transformation. Faced with the talent shortage, the need for flexibility, new working habits, and growing candidate expectations, recruitment teams have seen their way of working completely disrupted.

While recruiting and attracting talent remain more strategic than ever for companies, they do not always have the budgets or expert teams needed to successfully carry out these processes. Another persistent challenge: attracting candidates has never been as difficult as it is today! It is even becoming almost impossible to recruit recruiters!

According to Culture RH, at the beginning of 2022, 52% of French companies were facing recruitment difficulties. So how can organizations hire and retain a team of recruiters when it has become such a challenge? How can these 52% of companies stand out from the competition? How can they make their opportunities visible in the jungle of available jobs? How can they attract talent? How can they build an optimal candidate experience and improve their recruitment process? This is where Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) comes in.

What is RPO?

RPO involves using an external provider to handle part or all of the recruitment process. How does it work? A Recruitment Officer or Talent Acquisition Manager (whatever title you choose — we’ll call them a Recruitment Consultant) is assigned to the company full-time or part-time for a set period and works on-site within the organization.

This Recruitment Consultant (or team of consultants, since an entire team can be assigned) becomes an integral part of the HR team and is responsible for managing all company recruitments. They are able to design the best action plans to achieve their objectives efficiently. They may use the tools already in place within the company, or alternatively, they can use the tools provided by the RPO company that employs them.

What is the role of the RPO Consultant?

As a true right-hand partner to your HR department, the RPO Consultant supports your company throughout the entire recruitment cycle:Sourcing the best profiles

  • Sourcing the best profiles

  • Writing and posting job offers

  • Screening and prequalifying candidates

  • Organizing and conducting interviews

  • Following up on offers and onboarding new hires

As an ambassador for your employer brand, they embody your company values from the first interaction and ensure a smooth and positive candidate experience.

What are the advantages of RPO?

Using RPO offers numerous advantages for your recruitment processes:

The flexibility of the solution

Whether you need to temporarily strengthen your recruitment team, structure your hiring processes, or simply respond to high-volume or seasonal needs, RPO is the right solution — the assignment is time-limited and can be extended as needed. Your Recruitment Consultant can also manage all or part of your recruitment activities. The choice is yours.

Optimizing the candidate experience

By being part of your team, your Recruitment Consultant is closer to your operational staff, which greatly improves understanding of the company’s values and the roles to be filled. As a result, recruitment timelines are controlled, and the candidate experience is enhanced.

Time savings

No need to search for a recruiter! Your Recruitment Consultant handles the writing and posting of job ads, but also identifies candidates and follows up with them in a structured way to obtain responses. It’s a demanding task — a true profession that has become increasingly time-consuming in recent years.

Financial advantage

Recruiting is costly and resource-intensive. With RPO or E-RPO, you can optimize your budget in several ways. First, the Recruitment Consultant is not part of your payroll since they work for you as an external service provider. Second, you no longer need to subscribe to job boards or CV databases, as they already have access to these tools. Finally, you control the duration of the engagement.

Thus, RPO allows your HR teams to refocus on other priorities such as career management or training, while enabling your operational teams to concentrate on their core business.
